My John Deere model R tractor was delivered to Wolf Point Montana 19 July 1950. It is now running around the U.K. to tractor shows and vintage events. Do you know anyone that might have any history of the tractor or very large farms (the tractor cost more than $3500 at that time) operational at that time? I wondered if there is an old tractor club?

History is beautiful and seeing the pictures was amazing. I do not know who to contact but going though my late grandmothers books we found. A rather large file of ledgers and deeds to her great grandfathers indian trading post in wolf point. One was a deed to the land signed by President Martin van Buren. I am not sure who to contact about this but if someone knows who to contact please let me know. it was wonderful viewing your history and i hope some of ours might be included too.. All the way from San Antonio!

My father Sylvester Carl Neufeld was raised in Wolf Point. His siblings included: Harvey, Nina, Evelyn, Bernice, and parents George & Helen. My dad left Wolf Point (his parents remained) and joined the US Army Air Corps during WW ll and served 20+ yrs, retiring from the US Air Force, Hunter AFB, Ga in 1962. I have two brother, Harvey (nicknamed Duffy 6 yrs older) and Robert (aka Bobby) 14 mos younger. Prior to my dads retirement, we lived in California, Philippines, Savannah Ga, and finally Orlando Fl. As of this writing (2018) both parents have passed on as has Duffy. Bobby still lives in the Orlando area, myself in Tampa. I retired from the Air Force after serving 36+ years, still working for the gov't as US Special Operations Command, but soon to retire for good. I remember visiting Wolf Point as a 7yr old and attended 1/2 of 2nd grade during our move from the Philippines to Georgia. I have great memories of the short time spent in Wolf Point with my grand parents and follow on visits. I vaguely remember the Stennis family and often played on their property. I remember begging my dad to move to Wolf Point because the loved the country side, smells of the west, wheat fields, etc. But, that didn't happen. Bottom line: I have a wonderful memory of Wolf Point and always will. Oh one more thing, the drive to live in the West was so strong that I purchased 40 acres at Wild Horse Ranch located 18 miles west of Laramie Wyoming, against the Snowy Range Mountains. My wife and I built a log home, and that's my link to the West and is our "home away from home".
