Do you still read these guest post and forum entries? Realistically, (which is rather odd to say all things considered), it'd say it's obvious that things are NOT as they appear to be! And 'cured' I somehow doubt is the right word. I think all he did was give the mental world a sample of his spiritual essence, and now knows how to properly deal with him. The explanation given by the other guy only makes sense in regards to why Eichi was able to fend off these mental assault (that he already knows and accepts his Id). The explanation given about him being to 'shield' them and 'protect' them from the mental world after they've already been assimilated didn't make a lick of sense since if they're already been absorbed, that means they're (yeah I know I keep saying this part) part of that world. The explanation given sounded like that world was just CONTROLLING them and he just needed to cut the puppet strings. But if their mental and spiritual essence has been pulled to an infinitely thin thread, made one with that world . . . Everything to me suggests the mental world has simply gotten smart and changed tactics.

I'm saving this week's to my computer and for more than the obvious reasons! I LOVE brainwashing/hypnosis/mental change that isn't simple 'point and zap.' Ones that lead you in, basically making you do it to yourself? THAT IS TRUE ART! This storyarch is by far my absolute favorite out of the entire series!

That's one way to cull the herd on an already overloaded cast. And ironically a twisted cruel and fitting way too. But why did we see the inner Id of only three of the travelers? What of the other two? Why were they left out? And here we see only three souls broken down into fine glass.
