Hi I am the gr gr gr granddaughter of Thomas and Sarah Nottage.Their daughter Ellen was my gr gr grandmother. I am looking to find pictures of Ellen as I have one of her husband but have been unable to find any of her.

Hi Leonie--- My great, great grandfather was Edward (Eduard) George sidler who was the brother of Aloys Frederich Wilhelm Sidler. Edward was born in 1830 in Hamburg (?) He emmigrated to South Australia in 1873 on the Ship "Helene". In 1875 he signed a Certificate of Oath of Allegience" whilst staying with Aloys at Dashwood Gully. He lived in Gawler (Willaston) and died in 1920 in Semaphore (Adelaide) He had a son Edward Aloys Sidler and a daughter Johanna Emma Sidler . Edward Aloys moved to Kalgoolie where he died in 1955 His daughter Beryl May Sidler was my Grandmother. ......If you are interested in anymore info. I would love to hear from you. My research into the family needs to go into Germany but I have hit a wall.

Dear Leonie, I have just found your request for info about the Sidler family. Basically at this stage I only have the same info that you have about Aloys Sidler who was the father of my great grandmother Ellen Jane (known as Nell) who married George Ellis of Meadows, but am also interested in finding out more.
